About Us

The Wax Market

A Story Born from a Conversation

Djêkoo Wax was born during Covid, through long discussions between myself — Stéphane, a Rochelais at heart and an entrepreneur by nature — and my wife Sylvie, originally from Côte d'Ivoire. From these exchanges came an obvious realization: what if wax, this vibrant, colorful, history-rich African fabric, finally found its place in our Western wardrobes?

After several professional lives, I took the plunge and created Djêkoo Wax in La Rochelle. A personal project, rooted in a love story and sincere admiration for the craftsmanship of African artisans.

For Those Who Reject the Familiar

Djêkoo Wax is for those who are tired of finding the same clothes, the same jewelry, the same accessories everywhere in Europe. Those who love color, originality, uniqueness. Those who want to wear something with a soul.

We offer two complementary universes:

  • Wax in all its splendor — clothing, ornaments, bags, and jewelry entirely designed in wax fabric, handcrafted by artisans in Côte d'Ivoire and France. Nothing is mass-produced. Each piece is unique.
  • A subtle wax touch — for those who wish to maintain a Western style while embracing originality, a range of eco-friendly clothing with printed wax patterns. A subtle and elegant way to integrate Africa into their daily lives.

Our Commitment

The name Djêkoo comes from the Abbey dialect, spoken in Côte d'Ivoire. Combined with the word Wax, it literally means "The Wax Market". A name that says it all: a meeting place between two cultures, two aesthetics, two worlds.

I work with carefully selected local artisans — embroideries done by BAO Communication in La Rochelle, eco-responsible DTG & DTF prints made in France with T-POP — and I use certified materials (GOTS organic cotton, recycled polyester, recycled wax) because responsible fashion is not an option, it's a conviction.

Our Vision

Start from La Rochelle. Radiate across France. Open up to the world.

I am building Djêkoo Wax step by step, with the ambition of making wax fabric a fashion essential, regardless of our origin.

Our Values

  • Authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship
  • Color, originality, uniqueness
  • Ethical and eco-responsible fashion
  • Support for local creators (Côte d'Ivoire & France)
  • Cultural diversity as a strength
